I've been to the beach every summer since I was a child, and I've never seen a live starfish. This year they were everywhere. The boys were catching them by the bucketful (And then, releasing them). They really do regenerate their appendages. You could see where an injured starfish was regrowing its arm. It was a very interesting science lesson for John Barry.

Starfish
